The Club shall be known as "Shetland Motorsport Club"

To organise track events for Club members

Annual membership shall be available to anyone in Shetland subject to the agreement of the committee.

The committee shall consist of Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and 7 other committee members, who shall be elected by the club at an Annual General Meeting.

All committee members shall retire after 3 years and may stand for re-election.
Any vacancies arising in the committee shall be filled by a person or persons selected by the committee.
Any office bearer resigning during their term of office shall be replaced by an existing committee member and shall be eligible for re-election.

Proceedings of the Committee:
The committee shall meet no less than once every month.
The committee shall meet on the requisition of the Chairman, Secretary or any other members of the committee.
All questions shall be decided by a simple majority of the committee members present and voting thereon in accordance with the agreed method at a meeting of the committee.
The Chairman of the club will be the chairman at the meeting.
If the Chairman is absent from the meeting, the Vice-Chairman shall be the chairman of the meeting.
If both the Chairman and Vice-Chairman are absent the committee shall then elect a chairman for that meeting.
In the case of equality of votes, the chairman shall have a second or casting vote.
The quorum at a meeting of the committee shall be no less than 50% of present committee members.

The Secretary shall keep a record of all the proceedings of the committee and must be present at all committee meetings.

The Club intends to do fundraising to cover expenses incurred for track events, any monies left remaining shall be deposited in the Clubs bank account for future events/meetings.

The Committee shall operate a current and deposit account with the Bank of Scotland, 117 Commercial Street, Lerwick, Shetland ZE1 0DN, to be operated by any 5 office bearers, 2 signatures required.

The Club may be dissolved by a resolution passed of not less than 75% of the members present, and by voting at an Annual General Meeting or an Extraordinary Meeting called for such purpose.

If upon dissolution of the club there remains, after satisfaction of all debts and liabilities, any monies whatsoever, the same shall be paid among the committee members.

Misconduct and Expulsion of Members:
Members are expected to report to the committee, any action or behaviour of a member, which could affect the nature of the Club where the committee accepts that there is case for consideration the members concerned:
- Shall be given notice by the Chairman of the report together with a summary report from the Secretary
- May, within seven days of the reciept of such notice, make a representation in writing to the committee, or to give notice to the secretary of his or her wish to make a verbal representation to the committee at the next meeting.
The Committee shall consider the report together with any written/verbal representations.

Members found to be guilty of such behaviour may on a resolution passed by a majority of not less than 75% of the Committee Members of the Committee present and voting to have his or her membership suspended or even cancelled.

Alterations to the Constitution:
The constitution may not be altered except on a resolution of not less than 75% of the members voting at a General Meeting called for such purpose.
Any alteration of the constitution shall be recieved by the secretary at least one week before the meeting, which the resolution is to be brought forward.
The notice of the Club meeting shall be given by the secretary to the members shall include notice of the alterations proposed.

Abide by the Highway Code while travelling to and from Club events.
